about community foundation scholars

From the director

Welcome!  At Community Foundation Scholars, we work with students and families to meet them where they are and help navigate their options for post-secondary education and training. We believe every student has their own path, but should be prepared for any opportunity they wish to pursue.

We begin working with students at the end of their sophomore year of high school and continue to support them until they complete their chosen postsecondary path. This could be a vocational or technical program, a community college or four-year college degree.

Students become our family and we not only help students access education, we support them in succeeding in their chosen program.

The Community Foundation Scholars has been many years in the making. I am excited as we look at moving our current programming in Clark County to other counties in Central Kentucky.

Take a look around our site and let us know what you think and what questions you have.

Sincerely,

Dr. Kim Schroeder

our philosophy

We believe every student has their own path, but should be prepared for any opportunity they wish to pursue.

At CFS, we work with students and families to meet them where they are and help them navigate their options for post-secondary education and training.

We not only help students access education, we support them in succeeding and completing their chosen program.

our history

In 2015, our founder, Dr. Kim Schroeder, started the Clark County Community Scholars with her colleagues, Dr. Brad Goan and Ms. Ingrid Allen, in collaboration with the Clark County Community Foundation.

Dr. Schroeder took over management of CCCFS in 2018 and in 2020, Dr. Schroeder created the Community Foundation Scholars to expand the program to serve more students and families across the Central Kentucky region.
